My Spooktacular DIY Halloween Ghost Glass Mug

October 31, 2021

Happy Halloween, friends!!! My favorite holiday is finally here and I am the most excited for it this year because my 2 (almost 3) year-old is just as excited and ready to go trick or treating house to house for the first time. For the past month, we’ve been indulging in all the kid-friendly Halloween movies lately (like Casper, which you can see in my photo below).

This post could contain affiliate links, which means I would receive a small commission at no cost to you should you shop using the links.

But, for the past two months, we’ve been discussing costume ideas together. He was pretty set on a witch, then switched to things like wolf, vampire, pumpkin — very traditional Halloween costumes. He finally settled on a scarecrow, but knowing my son far too well I had a feeling the day of Halloween he would not want to wear a costume. Thus I have always had a backup “costume” of regular clothes ready to go so he could still go out for Halloween dressed up but never knowing he was in a costume.

Thankfully, to my delight, his “costume” was recognized by many. I dressed him as Marty McFly from Back to the Future (you can take a look at his sweet self on my Instagram). He had the most fun trotting around town collecting candy with his Princess best friend.

I found some really adorable Halloween drinking glasses while scrolling through Pinterest and Etsy and decided to give it a try myself. This was incredibly simple to create and I absolutely love the outcome. The only minor issue is you need to be so so so very careful when washing your glass. Hand wash only, no dishwasher!

For my DIY ghost glass mug, I used a white glass pen and only bought one glass mug which I am absolutely regretting because I would love to make more for the different upcoming holidays. I would recommend buying a set of four glass mugs (typically the amount they are sold in), but to each their own!

I free-handed my ghosts, but since it’s a glass mug you could easily draw or print out a design ahead of time and place it into the mug for you to trace on the outside. So easy and so fun!

I hope you have success creating your own DIY ghost glass mug! Let me know how it goes! Happy Halloween!

A decaying estate with a library full of secrets (both literal and figurative) all wrapped in a Gothic atmosphere… The Story Keeper by Kelly Rimmer sounded like it was written for me. Like my favorite book, Rebecca (which was mentioned in this story!!)

Thank you so much for the ALC @netgalley

“Beauty and the Beast meets organized crime” that was enough for me. Instantly needed to read this. Loved it. Cannot wait for more because the ending? That cliffhanger? How dare you. Happy pub day @sadie_kincaidxx !! ♥️
