Five For Friday

Five for Friday: Cozy Homes

April 8, 2022

Happy Friday! What a long two weeks it has been. I’ve barely been active here due to me and the kids getting sick and not being able to shake it at all. Plus, add in a teething baby along with having sickness and it was basically the perfect recipe for disaster. Luckily, we are all feeling 100% better. Sleep and normal activities have finally resumed.

This post could contain affiliate links, which means I would receive a small commission at no cost to you should you shop using the links.

Although I had previously been sharing Friday Favorites with you, which would stick to one topic, I’ve decided to mix things up a bit because I always have way more than one topic on my mind. This week I am starting a new Friday blog series that I am calling Five for Friday where I list off five different topics of things I am loving this week.

This is a fun way for me to get all my ideas out of my head, plus you get to learn a little more about me in the process. I hope you love it just as much as I loved putting it together. If you ever have any ideas you’d like to see talked about please post your comment below or send us an email!

1. Let’s Look: Dreaming of a Cozy Home

Here are a few Pinterest images I am loving this week — the ones that literally made me stop my scroll. This week I found a few cozy home images that evoked a feeling of nostalgia for me. Does that ever happen to you, too? There’s something about the way the sun shines in that instantly makes you feel good and makes you want to take your day a little slower. Soaking in nothing but the feel of the moment.

2. Let’s Watch & Read

I’ve been simultaneously reading and watching Outlander for the first time. My goal was to read first and then watch, but with a severe lack of sleep lately, each night I couldn’t get more than a few pages in before my eyes would close, no matter how badly I wanted to continue. Wanting to experience the story right now I started watching it and found that reading and watching was actually just as enjoyable.

The books always hold more details, so it’s fun to read things I’ve already watched and gain a bit more knowledge on what’s going on. The first season and book are complete for me, on to the next! Have you read/watched too?

3. Let’s Shop: Spring Styles

I’ve been searching for new spring styles and I am smitten with this simple floral tee, a new pair of white denim shorts (because you always need new white denim), and this maxi dress (I bought so many last spring). A new pair of sandals is always a must-have on my list, and I have been eyeing this floppy hat for easy no-maintenance hair days.

4. Let’s Cook

This week we made a homemade meat sauce with pasta thanks to Simple Joy and it was <chef’s kiss>. Both kids loved it as well, which is always a huge parenting win. They mainly loved the tomatoes, but I still call it a win and we will be making this again.

5. Let’s Get Social: Tiktok

Here are a few videos I am loving this week from TikTok — my go-to social media when my brain needs to check out for a few minutes. Although I rarely ever hesitate to give a heart to a video I watch and enjoy, here are just a few that I loved this week that share a similar vibe.

This video by @apkipps envokes the same feeling as my scroll-stopping Pinterest images above. Cozy home, sunshine, and what I imagine in all the photos — a light breeze. Let’s all slow down a little and enjoy this simple beauty.

Again, a similarly cozy, slow-down feeling, this video by @mckennabuck gives you exactly that with her gorgeous imagery. Make sure to check out the original audio by @miainmoments.

The message from this video by @pacific.floral.farm is one to live by. It’s comical, yet so so very true.

Thank you for taking the time to read! If we have mistagged a photo of yours or you want a photo removed please email us.

“Beauty and the Beast meets organized crime” that was enough for me. Instantly needed to read this. Loved it. Cannot wait for more because the ending? That cliffhanger? How dare you. Happy pub day @sadie_kincaidxx !! ♥️

“All fame cost her was everything.” 🎸✨💋
Darkening Song by Delphine Seddon was such a fun read. When I saw it being placed in the same space as #daisyjonesandthesix I immediately requested this ARC. Thank you @netgalley and @stmartinspress — I can’t wait for the adaptation!

Daisy Jones & The Six — one of my favorite book adaptations ever. 📚 More books need to be made into a limited TV series rather than crammed into a movie. #daisyjonesandthesix #bookadaptation #bookstagrammer #bookstagram #bookflatlay
