I have such a soft spot for breakfast nooks. It was the first thing I fell in love with when touring our current house. I’ve always said when we eventually move to a new house one day we need a breakfast nook again, even if we have to be the ones to build it this time around.
Breakfast nooks not only create a comfortable atmosphere for your family and guests to eat, but they also add so much charm to a kitchen. Plus, they’re a great way to utilize the most space in small kitchens (which is exactly what we have). They can also act as a storage unit when your kitchen is lacking a ton of cabinet space. Our built-in bench contains small appliances, all baking supplies, and other miscellaneous containers and dishes that would otherwise be massive amounts of clutter on our countertops and cabinets.

Another thing I love about the built-in bench aspect of the breakfast nook is how you can easily revise the decor on it to transform the atmosphere of your kitchen. A pillow top or a mix of throw pillows certainly amplifies the cozy factor. We like to add a few large indoor plants to the ends of the bench to add more life to the space.
