How To Make A Party Banner

How To Make A Party Banner

For a DIY Breakfast At Tiffany’s bridal shower, I created a Bride & Co. banner to hang behind the bride-to-be while she opened all of her gifts. Although this banner is tailored to a Breakfast At Tiffany’s themed party, you can use these exact steps to easily make your own party banner in little to no time. All you will need (in whatever colors you want) is card stock, ribbon, a pencil, and a paint pen. The first few steps to creating a banner follows the same first steps as my Mimosa Bar and Photo Prop Frame tutorial.

Step 1 – Cut to size

Unless you are able to find card stock in the exact size you want for you banner, you will need to cut each piece to the correct size. I chose to cut mine into a 10×10 square. Circles, triangles, rectangles — cut your card stock into whatever shape you see fit for the party! Micheal’s has an enormous assortment of card stock in all colors and textures! Or, Amazon is always a great one shop stop for party and craft supplies. For my banner I needed six pieces of card stock. I chose to combine the  “R” and “I” as well as the “D” and “E” in the word BRIDE; it looked much better than having each letter on its own piece of card stock.

Step 2 – Write it out

Take your time and write in pencil the text of the banner. Don’t worry, you can make mistakes – once you paint over the words you won’t be able to see the pencil marks!

Step 3 – Paint it

I’ve used A LOT of paint pens, and this one was great for this project. It wrote smoothly on the poster board and didn’t run out of ink after completing all the projects for the bridal shower. I also used a white chalk paint to create a white bow. I used this white paint for a lot of my wedding signs, so its a brand I like and trust. And, its called Wedding Cake – it couldn’t be more perfect for wedding decor!

Step 4 – Hole punch

Hole punch one hole in both top corners of each square (or circle, triangle, whatever shape you create). Pull a piece of ribbon through each hole to connect each piece of card stock. Use a  white tulle ribbon to give it an extra wedding vibe, like this banner. Now you are done and can hang it up! Creating a banner for a party is super easy, inexpensive, and take little time! The best part: it allows you to have a banner that fits the exact theme of the party. Have any question? Please comment and let me know!

“All fame cost her was everything.” 🎸✨💋
Darkening Song by Delphine Seddon was such a fun read. When I saw it being placed in the same space as #daisyjonesandthesix I immediately requested this ARC. Thank you @netgalley and @stmartinspress — I can’t wait for the adaptation!

Daisy Jones & The Six — one of my favorite book adaptations ever. 📚 More books need to be made into a limited TV series rather than crammed into a movie. #daisyjonesandthesix #bookadaptation #bookstagrammer #bookstagram #bookflatlay
