Happy December! Today I am sharing gift ideas for the four-legged companion in your life! More specifically, the aggressive chewer in your life! Having an aggressive chewer can be a little frustrating. You want to get them toys because they should have toys of their own and they love having them, but they INSTANTLY destroy them.
So why continue to buy toys for aggressive chewers? Because it brings them joy! Plus they should be included in your holiday gift exchange. After all, they are a special part of the family – they should have something to open for the holidays, too! If you are like me then you shower your dog with new toys all year round – but there is something so special about giving them a gift Christmas morning to open just like the rest of us.
I love wrapping the gift in paper and watching as my Daphne rips and chews it open in pure excitement, knowing underneath there is a toy just for her. I know, serious dog-mom over here.
Daphne is a 90lb pit mix, overly aggressive chewer, and has been able to destroy every toy labeled “indestructible.” Except for one toy, which is on the list below! I hope the following list of my dog’s favorite toys help your aggressive chewer have a toy last more than five minutes, finally.

The Best, Longest Lasting Ball
I am starting off this list with the best, and I mean THE BEST BALL especially if you have a dog that can destroy ANYTHING (like I have). This is the one and the only toy my 90 lb pitbull has never been able to destroy. I’ve recommended this ball to other who have aggressive chewers who only know how to destroy, and everyone agrees this ball is indestructible! Plus, there are some really cute options! But we love this one that squeaks!
Long-Lasting Bone
Another toy that has lived a looong life in our home (unlike so many before it…) the Benebone wishbone! My Daphne will chew and chew on this mostly at night while relaxing in her bed, but other times, too, throughout the day when her baby brother isn’t taking up all her relaxing time. It does become a little jagged from all the chewing, so watch where you step at night!
Durable Stuffed Animal
My dog loves loves loves stuffed animals. The very first toy we ever gave to her was the dinosaur in the picture above. Tuffy Toys are our favorite stuffed dog toy brand because of their durability. Now, 100% honest time: can my dog ultimately destroy this? Yes. Does it take far far far longer than any other stuffed toy? Yes. This toy is filled with stuffing, but this brand offers stuffing-less options as well!
Tugging and Pulling
We’ve had our fair share of rope toys since we adopted Daphne four years ago, but this one has outlived them all! A lot of dogs have a strong urge to pull and tug and finding a toy that offers knots for both you and your dog to hold onto is super helpful for the tug-o-war game to last!
Rope Ball
Adding another ball to the list because this one is definitely a great option, especially if you don’t have as aggressive of a chewer like I have. If your dog isn’t an overly aggressive chewer like mine, it may last forever! After months of play, ours eventually begins to unravel. This actually makes it more exciting for my dog because she can hold onto the unraveled string and throw it. Take cover!
For Fun and Energy Release
Anyone who has a dog and purchases this toy is never disappointed. In fact, I know someone who typically has about five of these on hand because her 3 dogs (of all different sizes and breeds) love this toy so much! Sometimes they love it to death, thus, there needs to be extras on hand. Along with the funny sounds, it is easy for dogs to push around or pick up and run around with. It’s the perfect toy for my Daphne to run around with to get energy out. Psst — it’s now offered in glow in the dark!
