How to Easily Save Money Shopping Online

November 23, 2018

Are you an online shopper? If you’re like me, you prefer to do most (if not all!) of your shopping online. The convenience factor alone is reason enough to shop online, but I also love that I can take my time, add and take away things to my cart and think it over before I click “buy”.

There is so much less pressure than going into an actual store and feeling like you must decide within a certain amount of time.

OK, and if we are being completely honest, I think my many years of working retail have slightly scarred me from entering shopping malls and shopping centers. Don’t get me wrong, I still enjoy going into a store on occasion (like craft stores!) but clothing stores I rarely step foot into. Online shopping all the way!

This Black Friday I did all of my shopping online, some purchases I even made 10% back on. How? Read on, fellow online shoppers!

How to Easily Save Money Shopping Online

How to Easily Save Money Shopping Online

So, as an avid online shopper, how can I save money? Super easy way: Ebates!

You may have heard about Ebates or have seen commercials but never really took the time to find out what exactly it is. Well, to make it easy: it is the holy grail for online shoppers. Ebates literally gives you cash back for shopping online at their affiliate stores.

What are affiliate stores? Affiliate stores give Ebates money in exchange for our purchases – it’s how Ebates is able to give us (the shoppers) a percentage back.

For example, Amazon is an affiliate store for Ebates (who doesn’t use Amazon these days??). Amazon pays Ebates a percentage for referring customers to its site, and in exchange, Ebates pays us a percentage as well.

Stores Available on Ebates

Clothing. Beauty and Health. Travel and Vacation. Shoes and Accessories. Kids and Baby. Sports and Entertainment. You name it and Ebates has it. A few popular examples: Amazon, Target, Walmart, Banana Republic, Macy’s, Sephora, Kohls, Expedia, CVS, Buy Buy Baby, Under Armour – just to name a few (there are 2,500+ others).

Ebates offers many great bonuses to its users, some including double points, refer a friend program, and a first-time purchase bonus. Sign up for Ebates and get a $10 bonus credit when you make your first purchase.

Why sign up with Ebates?

  • FREE and easy to sign up
  • Access to 2,500+ stores
  • $10 Welcome Bonus
  • $25 Refer a Friend bonus

How to Earn Cash Back

The most important question on your mind must be: how do I earn cash back? It’s simple. You visit the Ebates website and find the store you want to shop with. Ebates redirects you to that particular store’s website where you can online shop as you normally would.

Once you have completed your online purchase you can revisit the Ebates websites and check your account to see the percentage you earned on that purchase. The cash back balance must be greater than $5.00 by the end of the cash back posting period for you to receive a check.

If your Cash Back Balance is below $5.00 at the end of the Ebates Cash Back Posting Period, it will carry over to the next period. So don’t worry if you haven’t hit that $5.00 mark, it will stay in your account until you have!

Shopping at your favorite stores through the Ebates website is incredibly easy. It almost feels like you’re cheating on your favorite stores it’s so easy. Take advantage and save your money!

Remember to sign up here for an easy $10!

Happy shopping!

I agree with your comment about on-line shopping that you can take things out of your cart easily. I have an in-store trick similar, you simply pile everything your heart wants into the cart (this is done best in stores with a cart, of course, i.e. T.J. Maxx, Joanns, Hobby Lobby) and then reassess before getting in the check-out line. You will find that there are items you first placed in the cart that you have already forgotten about! But it was fun putting it in the cart at first 🙂

This is one of the best historical fiction books I’ve ever read (listened to, thank you @netgalley). If you have the chance to get your hands on this one, READ IT!

It doesn’t just tell you what happened in history, it truly makes you feel it. It educates you and moves you all at the same time. Thank you @tammyehuf I’ll read anything you write.

My #ThoughtDaughter book stack from July—the month I tried to pick a theme that resonated the most with me. My standouts: Alone With You In The Ether, The Virgin Suicides, and My Year Of Rest and Relaxation which I think about every time I buy an iced coffee and consider buying a second. #bookstagram #bookstack #myyearofrestandrelaxation #alonewithyouintheether
