When I was pregnant I made a strong effort to keep my own personal style. I found maternity clothing that not only fit well and made me feel great while being pregnant but also looked like my {non-pregnant} style.

Flash forward a few months later: life with a baby can be really hectic. Most days I feel like I no longer have the time to “get ready” like I used to. Before having my son I promised myself that I would still find little time throughout the day to get ready and keep my own style.

I think it’s really important for moms to keep their identity with style because losing your identity as a mom can be easier than you think. After all, you start prioritizing your baby (or babies) over everything, and you and your style can certainly take a plummet.

Before my son was born I thought that the promise I made to myself would be really simple to keep. “I’ll just shower, do my hair and makeup while he naps.” OK, well I forgot that I will also need to eat, pump, do laundry, write, take care of the dog, and breathe just a little while he naps. And who’s to say those naps won’t last for only 20 minutes (aren’t those so devastating!?!)

Easy to Style | T-Shirt Dress

One item of clothing that is super easy and flattering for being on the go with a baby: a t-shirt dress! It’s casual and comfortable yet still so stylish. The best part: it’s only one piece of clothing that you have to think about putting together.  Because when you’re a mom with little time to think for yourself, only having to worry about one piece of clothing is always best!

Find some strappy sandals, spritz some sea salt spray into your damp hair (especially if you have no time to dry it) and you are good to go on a summer day with your baby!
