Beachy / Living Room

Surfboard As Decor in The Living Room

June 30, 2022

We just spent the last week at the beach which means my mind is filled with nothing but surf and sand. As usual, I was constantly thinking of ideas to share with you. All-beach-related, of course. One really impactful way I have found to decorate in a beachy, coastal vibe — add a surfboard. They’re statement-making and add to the beach aesthetic in an obvious yet non-tacky way.

Today we are looking at how to style a surfboard as decor in the living room. You will see clean, crisp living rooms with an adorning surfboard that give a whole new meaning to the beach house. Stoked? Us too. Check it out below!

We absolutely love the boho gallery wall vibe this living room gives off. Gallery walls are a timeless and visually stunning way to display all things art and photography. Adding a large surfboard among the smaller art pieces not only creates a grand visual within the gallery but keeping it off-center allows your eyes to travel around the wall with greater ease.

This home exudes a clean and minimalistic vibe, perfect for a beachfront house that doesn’t need anything more than ocean views. This surfboard decor fits perfectly into the clean and neutral color palette when you don’t want to be overly saturated in stereotypical “beach” colors.

With a beautiful natural color palette with soft and cozy interiors, this living room is the perfect blend of modern meets coastal chic. With an undeniably relaxed vibe, this surfboard resides in anything but an ordinary beach house.

A subtle beach vibe graces this ’50s-style cottage living room. With a neutral color palette of all-grey walls and white flooring, the decor (including the surfboard) makes up the color pops. This makes it incredibly easy to switch up the color palette without having to repaint.

Similar to the beach cottage, this white walls and ceiling living room is complemented by pops of color from greenery and, of course, a surfboard. Pink is an easy way of adding a soft, warm, and feminine vibe to an otherwise cold space. If you feel your space lacks feminity and warmth, consider pink.

An intricate mix of wood furniture and textured decor creates a beachy, relaxed vibe in this modern and boho living room. The grand surfboard is beyond eye-catching and helps take up empty space, tying the entire room together.

We are smitten with this boho-styled living room. Although subtle, the use of the color green is so effective in creating a visually interesting space that could have otherwise been lost in an over-neutral space. Overflowing in texture, the wooden surfboard plays a major role in effectively creating a boho space.

Let’s take a look at a few more living rooms that feature surfboard decor.

As a serial highlighter and tabber, this book would have been ABSOLUTELY COVERED in little tabs if it was a physical copy. My Kindle highlights will have to suffice until pub day (June 2027) because I have so many thoughts.

the ghosts, the art, the wasps, the homewrecking…

This book was strange, sad, funny, beautifully unsettling, and somehow incredibly comforting all at once… and I loved it. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

My full review ⚠️with spoilers ⚠️ is up on the blog!

Thank you @netgalley @spiegelandgrau @beckymandelbaum for this amazing ARC!
