Beach Babe Favorites – Baby Beach Things We Actually Used and Loved

July 2, 2022

If you caught any of my beachy-themed posts during this past week you know last week we went on a family beach vacation. Since then my head has been filled nonstop with surf and sand. And my home has literally been filled with hidden sand from toys and the kids’ beach chairs. I suppose we just really wanted to bring the beach home with us.

This post could contain affiliate links, which means I would receive a small commission at no cost to you should you shop using the links.

We had an amazing time! The days on the beach were definitely the most fun for both of my kids which is why I am sharing with you my beach babe favorites today — aka all the “baby beach things” we actually used and loved.

  • swimsuit – I know this is a more than obvious pick for the beach, however, I wanted to share this SAFETY TIP. Did you know neon orange and neon pink are the best colors for babies and kids to wear in water? They’re the most visible should your little one go under the water.
  • sunhat – (with UPF 50+) if your little one will wear a hat, do it! Protect that sensitive noggin. My 11-month-old loves the idea of a hat, but only for a short period of time. I take full advantage when I can.
  • crocs – an adorable pair of knock-off crocs for the win! Honestly, we only went with these because it was a last-minute buy via Amazon and this is the style that had my son’s size in stock. Although they are a tiny bit too big, they still stayed on his feet and made it possible for him to explore on vacation.
  • water bottle – an insulated water bottle is an absolute must-have for the beach. The water stays cool plus this brand has the cutest prints. We have SO many.
  • sand toys – we LOVE this brand of toys. We honestly have a ton in the playroom and bathtub, so it was a no-brainer to trust it on the beach. It did not disappoint.
  • travel bib – we used this same bib and others of the same brand for my toddler as a baby, so it was an easy choice to continue with my second. I love how small it folds up for traveling.
  • travel booster seat – besides using it outdoors this travel seat was perfect to use indoors in lieu of a high chair at dinner. Sure, he was practically sitting on the floor but you can join them down there, too!
  • sunglasses – (polarized, UV protection) same with the sunhat, if you can get your little one to wear them, do it! There are so many adorable baby sunglasses options, you may end up snagging more than one!
  • stick sunscreen – this SPF 50 roll-on baby sunscreen makes it incredibly easy to apply and reapply as needed. Plus, I love the way all their products smell. We also like Thinkbaby SPF 30 Sunscreen Stick.
  • baby tent – not only was this tent great for my baby to go in and out of (if you’re lucky they can nap in it) but it was PERFECT for me to nurse him in. I like my privacy, if you prefer to nurse in private this is a must-have.
  • roll-up blanket – we have been using this “picnic blanket” all summer already, but it was a great addition at the beach. The best part is that this rolls up so easily with a built-in handle. Lots of cute prints are available.

As a serial highlighter and tabber, this book would have been ABSOLUTELY COVERED in little tabs if it was a physical copy. My Kindle highlights will have to suffice until pub day (June 2027) because I have so many thoughts.

the ghosts, the art, the wasps, the homewrecking…

This book was strange, sad, funny, beautifully unsettling, and somehow incredibly comforting all at once… and I loved it. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

My full review ⚠️with spoilers ⚠️ is up on the blog!

Thank you @netgalley @spiegelandgrau @beckymandelbaum for this amazing ARC!
