Over and Over by Becky Hunter | Audiobook Review

February 28, 2026

No, this is not the first time they’ve met, but maybe it will be the last. – Over and Over

Have you ever experienced that lightning strike moment when your eyes meet someone else’s for the first time? That split second where time seems to stop. It feels like recognition, like your souls already know each other.

I have believed in that kind of love for as long as I can remember. And Over and Over by Becky Hunter felt like it was written directly into that belief.

I just finished this book, my eyes are still stinging and there is this ache inside that I cannot shake. This is a beautifully emotional soulmate romance that explores the power of timing.

Over and Over by Becky Hunter Synopsis

Over and Over follows Lissa and Ash, two souls who continually find each other across different lifetimes. They don’t just fall in love once, they fall in love in every lifetime.

In the present timeline, their connection is immediate and magnetic. It just something you know as you’re reading their first interaction. And then as the story unfolds, flashes of past lives creep in and it becomes clear that their bond is something so deep. It’s pure soul recognition.

That crooked smile of Ash always finding his way to her.

You fall in love with them in the present first. That is what makes the rest hurt so beautifully. Because every glimpse into the past becomes this undeniable proof that they have always found each other. That this connection is destiny.

Over and Over Review

There were moments in the very beginning chapters where the timeline jumps felt slightly confusing. But once I was totally immersed in the story, those flashbacks easily fell into the story and added meaning to help better understand Lissa.

What absolutely undid me was the final timeline (it better be the final!). They found each other at the same time they always have in the past, but then they let one another go.

For fifteen years. Fifteen years without one another felt like such a huge loss, but if this truly is their final timeline, then it is the one where they get to stay together forever. And that makes those fifteen years feel less like a loss and more like a necessary step to finally give one hundred percent of themselves to each other.

Over and Over Audiobook Review

I listened to the audiobook version, and the female narrator did such a wonderful job. This was truly one of those rare narrations for me where I did not feel the need to adjust the speed to x2 just to make it feel natural for me.

She spoke at a tone and pace that felt perfectly aligned with the emotions of the story. She gave such tenderness to Lissa’s perspective, which worked beautifully for the structure of the story.

Over and Over Final Thoughts

Over and Over left me with tear stinging eyes and an ache in my stomach. I have always believed in soulmates and in the timing of life’s events unfolding the way they are meant to. This story only deepened those thoughts of mine.

If you don’t believe in soul mates and the idea that love arrives exactly when it’s meant to, this might feel a little far-fetched. As someone who has had tarot readings and believes in soul mates of all kinds, this was really right up my alley for a unique soulmate story.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This was bittersweet, emotional, and, for me, deeply beautiful.

Daisy Jones & The Six — one of my favorite book adaptations ever. 📚 More books need to be made into a limited TV series rather than crammed into a movie. #daisyjonesandthesix #bookadaptation #bookstagrammer #bookstagram #bookflatlay
