Five For Friday

Five For Friday: Flowers On The Table

June 17, 2022

Happy Friday! Today is incredibly special to me because it is my five-year wedding anniversary! Therefore for today’s Five for Friday theme we are talking all about love. For me, the biggest thing that makes the most impact on my day-to-day love and marriage is the little things. Not to sound so over-the-top cliche, but life really is made up of little moments — little gestures, little compliments, little moments cooking and eating, playing with the kids, etc.

This post could contain affiliate links, which means I would receive a small commission at no cost to you should you shop using the links.

One of my favorite little ways that my husband has always shown his love for me not only these past five years of marriage but the 4.5 years prior to that while dating was with flowers. Every first date in the beginning of our relationship — arrived with flowers in hand. Followed by spontaneous bouquets when we would spend time together. And now, five years married and I still get those sweet bouquets on a weekly or bi-weekly basis.

I’m not talking about a fancy overpriced bouquet that you would typically see available on Valentine’s Day, but rather the small wildflower $6 bunch available at the grocery store. Usually, double the price when he takes my 3-year-old to pick them out. He has good taste…

Wild colorful bunches adorn our kitchen at a constant rate. Always there to remind me that he was thinking of me. Nothing over the top, just a simple and steady reminder for the past (almost) ten years. The little things really make all the difference in the world.

1. Let’s Look: Flowers On Table

As I said above, flowers adorn my kitchen at a constant rate, bringing happiness and love. Today I am sharing scroll-stopping Pinterest images of flowers in the kitchen. Flowers on the table, sink, windowsill — anywhere in the heart of the home.

2. Let’s Watch & Read

  • Outlander – we are still going strong with watching and reading Outlander. Currently, we are on the last episode of season 3 (it’s keeping me on the edge of my bed!).
  • The Last Letter From Your Lover – we recently watched and enjoyed this movie, based on the book of the same name by JoJo Myers (Me Before You is another great one)
  • Rebecca – I did not just recently watch or read this, but it is worth noting since today’s theme is love. This has been my favorite book for years, and the new Netflix remake did the book justice in my opinion. Although, I will always love the Hitchcock version.

3. Let’s Listen

Music has always been a big part of our relationship. We play music throughout the home most days, and you can almost always find one of us singing to ourselves — even the three-year-old. Not that any of us have a singing voice. Here is a short list of songs we absolutely love to listen to at any given moment.

  • Houndmouth – Sedona
  • The Wombats – Turn
  • Walk The Moon – Anna Sun
  • Mat Kearney – NY to CA
  • Taylor Swift – August
  • Jack Johnson – Angel
  • Halsey – Colors

4. Let’s Capture The Moment

Over the past 9.5 years together, the one thing we have had fun using to capture moments is our polaroid camera. From dating to our wedding (acted as our guest book), honeymoon, to any vacation, and now moments with our two kids. We have loved the memories being instantly captured without living on our camera roll forever.

We have the Fujifilm Instax Mini 9, but there are many fun options available!

5. Let’s Get Social

Here are a few love-themed TikToks I have found recently:

  • Titanic – who can deny this true-love affair?
  • Outlander – I LOVE their love (season 3 spoiler)
  • Johnny Depp – were you also way too invested in his trial? Worth it.

Thank you for taking the time to read! If we have mistagged a photo of yours or you want a photo removed please email us.

“Beauty and the Beast meets organized crime” that was enough for me. Instantly needed to read this. Loved it. Cannot wait for more because the ending? That cliffhanger? How dare you. Happy pub day @sadie_kincaidxx !! ♥️

“All fame cost her was everything.” 🎸✨💋
Darkening Song by Delphine Seddon was such a fun read. When I saw it being placed in the same space as #daisyjonesandthesix I immediately requested this ARC. Thank you @netgalley and @stmartinspress — I can’t wait for the adaptation!

Daisy Jones & The Six — one of my favorite book adaptations ever. 📚 More books need to be made into a limited TV series rather than crammed into a movie. #daisyjonesandthesix #bookadaptation #bookstagrammer #bookstagram #bookflatlay
