Once the sun slips away and winter hushes the world, there’s a sound you were never meant to hear. A bell. Just one. Light as a breath but heavy enough to catch right in your throat. Known in scattered pieces of German folklore as a skeletal winter spirit, the Jingle Man legend is now resur[...]

December 2025 Reads: A Month of Fairy Tale and Folklore Retellings

January 15, 2026

We Met Like This Review: A Fun and Heartfelt Romance by Kasie West

December 2, 2025

The banter and the undeniable chemistry between the main characters - We Met Like This by Kasie West ended up being impossible for me to put down. While I never want to judge a book purely by its cover (but let's get real, we all do it--right?), I did find myself putting this one off longer[...]

The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah: Staircase Symbolism & The Women Who Climbed

November 16, 2025

How many women carried light through history’s darkest times and were never named? Finishing The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah while in public is something I cannot discourage enough. As I shielded my face with the book, not daring to make any eye contact whatsoever with anyone, I was real[...]

A decaying estate with a library full of secrets (both literal and figurative) all wrapped in a Gothic atmosphere… The Story Keeper by Kelly Rimmer sounded like it was written for me. Like my favorite book, Rebecca (which was mentioned in this story!!)

Thank you so much for the ALC @netgalley
