Season of The Witch by Sophie Morgan: A Spicy Witchy Romance

September 25, 2025

This isn’t your typical enemies-to-lovers dynamic. It’s something better.

Solely judging Season of the Witch by its cover, I was fully prepared for a sweet, cozy, Hallmark-style romance with a touch of witchy magic (I mean, just look at the cover). By page two, I realized I had deeply misjudged this book.

l had already encountered enough vulgar language to last an entire novel. Again, this was discovered on PAGE TWO.

And I loved every bit of it.

Sophie H. Morgan delivers a bold, funny, and unapologetically spicy witchy romance that hooked me right away. The banter between the FMC and MMC had me smiling from the very first chapters, and their undeniable pull toward each other kept me on edge the entire read.

This wasn’t your standard enemies-to-lovers dynamic.

No, it was something so much better. This was lovers to enemies to lovers!

As a witchy story, this definitely leans more playful and passionate than moody or mysterious, it’s exactly why it was a stand out read for me this month.

So many of my September Witch Reads were heavily drenched in moody atmosphere and darkness, but my absolute standout and favorite reads were the Crimson Moth duology (such satisfying enemies to lovers) and this paired so well with it.

I listened on audio (which was given to me as an ARC via NetGalley), and the single narrator absolutely killed it. I loved listening to her voice. She captured the humor, the heat, and the overall heart of the story.

The undeniable love and chemistry between the characters was brought to life in such an effortless and totally believable way. Her performance kept the pacing lively and made every moment feel electric. 100% recommend as an audiobook.

Final Thoughts

Season of the Witch surprised me. Instead of a cozy Hallmark vibe, I got witty banter, surprising and unapologetic spice, and a witchy romance that kept me fully entertained from the first page to the last.

If you can’t already tell, I loved every second.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Thank you, NetGalley, for the opportunity to read and review The Season of The Witch.

Darkening Song by Delphine Seddon was such a fun read. When I saw it being placed in the same space as #daisyjonesandthesix I immediately requested this ARC. Thank you @netgalley and @stmartinspress — I can’t wait for the adaptation!

Daisy Jones & The Six — one of my favorite book adaptations ever. 📚 More books need to be made into a limited TV series rather than crammed into a movie. #daisyjonesandthesix #bookadaptation #bookstagrammer #bookstagram #bookflatlay
