Silly Beach-Themed Kids’ Books for National Beach Day!

August 30, 2023

Summer’s sunniest day is here, and what better way to celebrate National Beach Day than by diving into the wonderful world of kids’ books that capture the magic of the seashore? Whether you’re building sandcastles or riding the waves of your imagination, these silly beach-themed books are sure to make your little ones smile from ear to ear. Grab your sunscreen and let’s take a joyful journey through the pages of these silly little stories!

As the weather today painted the perfect beach day scene, I found myself not at the beach, but in the backyard with my four-year-old. We laid down our favorite beach blanket (that also acts as our picnic blanket) under the shade of our trees, and the gentle breeze was truly the main character of this scene. I watched as my little one rode down our hill over and over again on an oversized toy dump truck. With flushed cheeks and the sweetest sound of laughter, he collapsed into our blanket, and with a sigh, he said in almost a whisper: “This is a great day.” It’s the simple days like this that I love the most.

To celebrate National Beach Day, we read a few silly beach-themed books together. With their endearing characters, imaginative plots, and vibrant illustrations, these stories were the perfect way to bring the beach to life in our backyard. Because you know we had to pretend we were at the beach — I love a 4-year-old’s nonstop imagination.

Whether you’re basking in the sun or cuddled up at home, grab a blanket, maybe a bucket and shovel, and let these silly tales transport you to a world where every day is a day at the beach. Happy National Beach Day, and happy reading!

As a serial highlighter and tabber, this book would have been ABSOLUTELY COVERED in little tabs if it was a physical copy. My Kindle highlights will have to suffice until pub day (June 2027) because I have so many thoughts.

the ghosts, the art, the wasps, the homewrecking…

This book was strange, sad, funny, beautifully unsettling, and somehow incredibly comforting all at once… and I loved it. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

My full review ⚠️with spoilers ⚠️ is up on the blog!

Thank you @netgalley @spiegelandgrau @beckymandelbaum for this amazing ARC!
